Kilowatt Ours

Kilowatt Ours was a great movie because it shows us a lot of things. if someone did not know how to help save this environment, after watching this film they should know a little more. what did we see?
1- we learnt how it was not good to keep using coal.

2- the use of power panel

3- these 3 wind resources or wind turbines can power at least 400 homes

4-  green power light bulbs

5- we can make a whole house become a green power house.

Ft. Myers Beach Historic Cottage

I had a great time when we went to Ft. Myers Beach Historic Cottage. the lady did a great job of teaching us about all these people. we had learnt that the Calusa, the Spanish, the Pirates and the Koreshans were all fishermen. the Homesteaders were the farmers one and the Villagers were the ones who could vote. when were done went to take a little trip outside; we saw the mangroves and we also saw these little crabs.

FGCU Wet Trail

Going to the Florida Gulf Coast University Wet Trail was a great walk but for some reasons the rain kind of messed it up. I wish I could learn the names of all the trees because there are so many trees and I did not really know a lot of them. the only trees I could recognize were the pine trees and the alligator flags. I would like to go back one day so I could make sure that I know the names of these trees. I hope they keep this place the way it is or make it even better because its a cool place.

Waste to Energy Plant

Going to this pace was a great experience for so many reasons.
The Lee County Solid Waste Resource Recovery Facility, operating as Covanta Lee, Inc., is located in Fort Myers, Florida, and began commercial operation in December 1994 to serve the needs of both Hendry and Lee counties.

1- we learned about the four R's and what they stand for.

2- The facility processes 1,836 tons-per-day of solid waste while generating up to 57.3 megawatts of clean, renewable energy with approximately 50 megawatts sold to Seminole Electric Cooperative.

-- They make at least three visits per week to our homes.
3- garbage pick up

4- Trees trimming

5- Recycle

Food Inc

Food Inc. was a great movie because after watching it I have learnt how I have to be careful with what I eat; there were so many things I have seen from this movie that I did not like.
1- The top four beef packers controls more than 80% of the market. there should be more than that.

2- I don't like the way they raise the chickens. these chickens cannot even carry this weight sometimes because they are too heavy. this is not cool.

3- how come the companies are the one that are producing food for us but they don't want us to know a lot about them. Tyson declined to interviewed for the film.

4- I like when they showed how much corn they produced because I like corn and I was amazed to see how many things you can make with corns.

5- and the last thing I did not like was the hole in the cow. I found it disgusting.
